Colorado Patient Pre-payment
Tim
You had asked me on how I managed to get United Health Care to pay for my surgery, it was pure persistence.
I appealed twice, and the last time was when I sent them the letter explaining my condition, that I did not want to go on disability, and that I now had 2 surgeons that said the 2 level was medically necessary. I even mentioned that I saw United was on ProSpines website as an insurer that has paid for this surgery.
I don't know if that did the trick, but I'm sure it did not hurt.
So I would tell anyone, to not take no for an answer, the insurance companies are not the experts and cannot tell the patient how they feel. Have at least 2 medical necessity letters and then tell them exactly how you are feeling.
Hope this helps.
